Melding via Photoshop
Here is an example of melding. For the movie "Wild Things" the camera panned up from feet to face. The full body shot never existed on film. Using 4 images from the camera panning... the full body shot was created via melding. Note the 4 separate images used to create the final meld. By overlapping the separate images and blending the "flaws" of wrinkles and whatnot together...the result is a full body shot. Coolness!

Taking Bad Exposures on Purpose
Something I learned in my previous occupation is that the best photo to manipulate is one without strong highlights or shadows. Inside a washed-out image are the ingredients of range needed for a dynamic shot. See the attached before_after image as an example.

Having a Wingman would Help
As I don't use a tripod in nature photography, it would be nice to have a companion with me to "startle the bird" while I was adjusting focus. :)
